John McCain said last year that the economy wasn’t his strong suit, and that he needed to read up on the books of the former Federal Reserve chairman.

So this is the person you believe will fix our economy that George W. Bush & Friends worked to destroy? You rather have this instead of Obama? You rather have Hillary Clinton, someone who has agreed with the energy policies of John McCain to be the Democratic Nominee instead of Obama?

We hold the fate on the days of politics as usual and the anything goes tactics in this election. It’s obvious when you see the same tired tactics that we’ve grown all too familiar with in the McCain/Clinton campaign against Obama. The fundamental belief that we have to pander to the audiences making them believe that we’re on their side while we’re in front of them, but our actions work against their interests in our policies can be a thing of the past. The threat of Obama is that he represents the truth the American people seek in government. We all will not agree on every decision, but the belief and trust that we have in Obama that he honestly has the best interests and/or the better good at heart is greater than a differing opinion on a single issue.

When McCain/Clinton & Friends attack our intelligence with misleading statements, distraction tactics and talk about things that have no weight on the issues, they are attacking you. This election and campaign is not so much about the man, Barack Obama, but who he represents. The world is watching. Judging by some comments I’ve received outside of the U.S. they are watching as intensely as the media wants this primary to continue on.

So Whatcha Gonna Do?  Is this who we want? If I can quote phrase from a speech delivered by Dr. Martin King at the end of the March from Selma to Montgomery, “Let’s March on Ballot Boxes”.  Some have suggested that some Americans are motivated by fear to the voting booths. I’m telling you not to vote your fears or on a single issue, but vote your ambitions. Again, I quote Dr. King, “Now Is The Time” to stand and be heard.

PS: Yeah I know I got slightly off my intended economic policy subject, but this election is much deeper than economics and the politics of fear.

……

Finally, I would like to thank someone who commented on my previous entry for the inspiration for this one. He has an equally interesting if not an even better blog than this. Check him out.

Now I will be the first person to voice my opinions regarding the “highway robbery” we all are victims of each time we have to put gas in our vehicles. Now we hear our friend Hillary Clinton teaming up with the Republican, John McCain in pandering to the “Say & Do Anything To Get Elected” Politics of the past.

Yes, I would love to see the gas get to at least $2.00/gal. again, but I ask McCain/Clinton how would suspending the gas tax solve the energy problems we have. The “half a tank of gasoline” or in my case the 6 gallons of gas I would save by the temporary suspension of the federal gas tax is not worth raising the national debt even higher.

I agree with the 4/30/08 NY Times article by Thomas L. Friedman titled “Dumb as We Wanna Be“.
