I wrote this many months ago, and decided to finish and present it to you today. I write this because I wanted everyone to focus on what’s important as we march into the General Election season. This is the second half.

Our common ground is not the beliefs of some that an Obama supporter is some how delusional, misinformed or single-minded. We’re men & women, young, middle-aged and old. We’re Black, White, Asian, Hispanic & Native American. We’re rich & poor, Democrats, Republicans and Independents. We have college degrees and G.E.D. We’re upper, middle and working-class. You can find us in communities in towns and cities as diverse as Seattle to Topeka to Detroit to Galveston and even Nashville. Don’t underestimate the level of sophistication of our vote by labeling us. A White Working-Class family in Mobile, AL struggles with the same ridiculous gas prices to fill-up their cars as a Hispanic Middle-Class family has in Cleveland, OH. The Black Upper-Class family living in Atlanta, GA faces the same overpriced healthcare expenses as the Asian-American Family in Los Angeles. We all are suffering from the destructive effects of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Friends these past 8 years. To continue it another 4 would be insane.

Regardless if you voted for Hillary Clinton or any of the other Democratic Candidates, it’s time to come together for the common good. There’s no doubt that the McCain campaign will use some of the same tactics Hillary used against Barack, but it will have the same effect. To base your vote and judgment on a single issue and not by the content of character is unfair and requires reexamination.

America’s individualism is wonderful and hopes we never depart from it. Our common ground is that we want America to live up its promise. We want to be able to travel throughout the world without the looks of contempt because we’re American.

Our common ground is that we show real leadership in our overwhelming, passionate and enthusiastic support for our party’s nominee. It’s not about the man; it’s about who and what he represents. If the people whom he represents refuse to unify on a common ground, then what does that say about what he is representing?

You will disagree with your family and friends on occasion, but it doesn’t break the relationship. Love, respect and like-beliefs are the common ground shared within that relationship.

Now is the time to stand together on that common ground.
