Come On Now John. How can you possible blame higher gas prices on Barack? Do you really want to go there? Maybe you should blame the two oil guys that you’re taking your orders from. You know the guys that you’re trying to distance yourself from, George & Dick.

I guess in his efforts to tell everyone, “Hey Look at Me!” John McCain made a statement that I don’t even think FOX News can honestly stand by. Well, second thought FOX News stands by George & Dick they’ll stand for anything.

John McCain released an absolutely ridiculous ad flatly blaming the Illinois senator for higher gasoline prices. (Link)

For Real Dude!

You’re telling me Barack Obama is the blame for me paying $4.00 a gallon to fill up my car.

(Whispering a Jesse Jackson like comment to the guy beside me.)

What color is the sky in your world?

Did Cindy forget to give you your meds today?

What’s the next commercial going to be, blaming Barack for the failure of IndyMac Bank. Perhaps Obama is the blame for the Lakers losing the championship. I’m sure Phil Jackson is saying, “…only if Barack passed the ball to Kobe”.

OK, let me take a moment and try to understand how you can honestly make this claim with a straight face. I bet you have some swamp land in Florida that you can sell me too.

John also said, “When you win wars, troops come home, He’s been completely wrong on the issue. … I have been steadfast in my position.” – John McCain

Takes Alex, I’ll take Vietnam for $200.

Note to McCain Campaign: It’s not only the majority of the American people believe that the war in Iraq was ill conceived, but judging by what Iraqi Prime Minister has said, the Iraqi people think so too. (Link)

I see you’re exploring the use of the “Kitchen Sink” Strategy. Note to McCain Campaign: Hillary already tried this, it doesn’t work.

Let me be halfway serious for a minute on this one. You made this commercial as an attempt to get some support for your Offshore Drilling scheme. Isn’t this a gamble? It takes at least 10 years to even begin the process. By that time Hillary or John Edwards will be in the White House.

Your own friends disagree with you on this one. In arguing for an end to the offshore moratorium and for drilling in the Alaska preserve, President Bush himself has said that these steps “will take years to have their full impact” on energy costs.

Good Try, but Wrong Answer.

(Video will come later)

I understand where the person is coming from and agree with them, but how far will this go.

This opens up an array of questions. If we are going to charge people from using the N-Word in its original intended context then what other words can we attach a fine to and who collects the money.

§ How would that money be used?

§ Who gets the use it?

§ Who will enforce it?

§ Who will trend the data of those fined?

§ What about if the word is recorded?

I agree that this word and so many other words can be hurtful. The times that I’ve been called a Nigga or Nigger, (depending on the person saying it) resist getting upset. Use it as a teachable moment. When someone uses this word or other derogatory words in its intended context and even out of context you should calmly explain to them how and when the use of the word exposes their ignorance on race and socially appropriate language.

You don’t go into a church, synagogue, temple or masque using profane language, unless you are trying to get swiftly escorted out the door.

Most people who enjoy freedom wouldn’t insult the judge in a courtroom making a judgment on your case.

Perhaps this is the way to Universal Reparations in America. Let’s fine anyone who uses the “N-Word”. That means we would have to fine quite a few rappers, politicians, White kids from the suburbs, Black kids in the inner-city, anyone living in rural areas, employers, your neighbor who whispers it under his voice as he puts a fake smile on his face waving at you as your drive by, the real estate consultant that assumes you don’t make enough to afford the house you’re currently in now, the guy at the store, etc, etc, etc. I can keep on going, but the point is that it’s going to be very difficult to introduce into legislation, implement it into law, enforce the law and then collect the fees. I didn’t mention the debt collectors. I can come up with a plethora of unsavory phrases that describes my feelings towards them, but you would need them to collect the fees from people who refuse to pay the fine.

I’m being silly and sarcastic with this, because I don’t think it’s able to be collected upon. The economic repercussions Michael Richards (Kramer) endured for this rant would probably calculate to a greater total than just paying $50 per use of the word. The same will be for Jesse Jackson.

Now for anyone reading this that believes I’m taking up for Jesse Jackson on this case should review two previous entries I made this month before submitting a crazy comment.

Now I guess I should be fined for the use of the word in the post. (Sigh) Alright, who do I make the check out to?

First Coast News “Jackson urged to pay fine for using N-Word” 07/21/08

During my childhood and teenage years my parents told me that I would be held to a higher standard than my peers. At the time I didn’t believe them and believed that it was just a cultural and generational fear. As I got older and entered the job world I quickly learned that my parents warnings were true.

Without offering a chronological resume of all the jobs that I’ve had for the past twenty years I will simply summarize what I understood the message my parents gave me. For some reading this, your parents may have given you a similar warning. What my parents was trying to warn me is that society has a general perception of me. This unspoken perception is different for every group. I can only speak for myself; your experiences may be very similar of vastly different. Either way it was unfair, because someone subjected you to your own version of the “Commander-in-Chief” Test.

This so-called Commander-in-Chief test recently popularized by Hillary Clinton is like a factious assessment test that no one can pass except former Presidents and Vice-Presidents. It’s unfair to subject Barack Obama or John McCain to this type of test, because neither one of them has ever been the Commander-in-Chief.

Lately it seems that the factious Presidential A.C.T. is being administered not by Hillary Clinton, but by sources that never taken the test and wouldn’t know how to grade Senator Obama on his performance on the test.

John McCain has continued to bait Barack Obama on his Foreign Policy, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. Senator Obama has held his ground on all of these attacks with basically the same answer. It’s amazing to see how now the White House, George Bush, John McCain are crafting their answers to mirror that of Barack Obama. It’s like how I would sneak-a-peak at my friend’s answers in Geometry class back in high school. (I hope my H.S. Geometry teacher Mr. Lane isn’t reading this. Oh well too late now.)

I believe Barack should be given some type of credit for having the current Commander-in-Chief and his opponent referencing his ideas. Perhaps he’s already passed this “test” and they’re just looking for something else to get him on.

This poll tax of perception placed on Obama reinforces what my parents told me all those years ago; you must be twice as good as everyone else. The perception of being Black, Asian, Hispanic, Mixed, Poor or a Woman in America will not disappear after Barack Obama is President. It will have to be a collective effort of everyone willing to put an end to the biases that some still cling to in this country and throughout the world.

“Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable… Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.” – Martin Luther King

The Commander-in-Chief test should be to see if we all can work together to resolve the inequalities that plague society today. Perhaps we can be graded on how well we can reduce our dependency on oil. Maybe the next Commander-in-Chief will be able to provide an effective Economic Policy. A good measurement of a great leader is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. That is the true Commander-in-Chief Test.
