On this day 40 years ago one of the longest running television programs debut. If you was a child of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or even if you’re a child today you probably have watch at least one episode of Sesame Street at some point in your life.
Sesame Street is a production of the Children’s Television Workshop, Goodbye.
Whoa! Hold up I got caught up there for a moment.
I guess some of us never really grow up, because whenever I hear the theme song it always puts a smile on my face. I guess it’s the innocence of it all that makes me smile. It’s a place that allowed you to be yourself and to learn the similarities in our differences. This message seems to have been a recurring theme in my life. Perhaps I should give credit to Sesame Street in addition to other factors and people in my life, because it taught me the fundamentals of appreciation and the tremendous value in diversity.
As a father I often make sure I take a moment to sit with my son and watch the show with him. One of my fondest memories is a skit called “Clap, Clap, Clap”. I remember watching this as a little kid myself and to have the opportunity to sit with my son as we watched it together shows the power of the show and the meaning in its message.
Regardless of where you are in life, Sesame Street seems to always have the ability to carry your back to that special time in your childhood. Happy 40th Birthday Sesame Street, I’ve enjoyed growing up with you.
Today’s TI&S Blog post was brought to you today by the letter N and the number 10. Tell me about your fondest Sesame Street memories.
I just wanted to make a quick point about this whole thing with Rush Limbaugh bid to purchase an NFL team. Now I’m sure there are some Republicans may be anticipating me taking the opportunity to beat up on him, but you would once again be wrong. I think that if Rush Limbaugh wants to purchase a NFL team and he has the means to do it and follows the guidelines set by the NFL he should be allowed to make an offer.
Now I disagree with the fact that Rush Limbaugh thinks he is not a racist. He can think that, but he contradicts himself without even realize it. What amazes me about the unconscious racist is not their lack of understanding about racism itself, but the oblivion to their own actions.
There are so many instances that I can quote Rush Limbaugh speaking negatively about race, often towards Blacks and Latinos. But because someone is a racist doesn’t mean they can not or should not have the opportunity to own a NFL or any other professional sports team. The test is whether you, the non-racist will support a racist. He has the right to own whatever he can purchase, just as Bob Johnson; a Billionaire who is Black owns an NBA team and Jay-Z; a businessman, entertainer and who is also Black owns a portion of an NBA team.
The problem is not Rush Limbaugh this time, but whether you will support Rush Limbaugh if he is successful in purchasing the St. Louis Rams.
In addition it allows everyone to see what the NFL Players Association is morally made of too. Will players of all races be willing to play on a team where the owner is racially and politically controversial? Will they have the moral fortitude to stand on their own principles and refuse to play for a team where the owner has repeatedly offended many people who are not White and Republican?
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs was right, because “It’s All About The Benjamin’s” on this and so many issues. Rush Limbaugh makes money doing what he does everyday and people pay him to offend people. If that means being a racist or stoking White racial fear, then that’s what he’s going to do. It’s all a testament of your moral values. He has a right to do what he does and we have a right not to buy what he is offering or is associated with.
So if St. Louis and the NFL is willing to deal with him we need not to be upset with Rush, but the NFL. They control the ball on this play. Rush is wanting to get the ball, but if he does we can tackle him not by verbal protest, but by not supporting what he’s involved in. It essentially comes down to the money.
Regardless what position you play when it comes to the strange, but well acquainted team of racism, sports and Rush you have to admit that the position I’m proposing is fair and ultimately the one that calls the shots in the end.
Not So Seriously Speaking
The discrimination will be indisputable when a prominent Democrat or Liberal buys a failing sports team and Republicans cry out against it, because you know many will. I wonder who will be the voice of reason then?
So my Republican friends don’t be upset, because I agree that the transaction is not about race. Sharpton & Jackson bring up race because of Rush’s history of racist remarks that even you can not deny he’s made. But Rush should be allowed to buy the team if he can meet the NFL standards. Sharpton & Jackson should concentrate on getting people not to support a racist. Racism isn’t racist, because anyone can be a racist.
I say Obama purchases a team and watch the reaction. How about the Clinton Clippers (reference to the NBA L.A. Clippers), how about the Keith Olbermann Mets or the Obama Blackhawks (reference to the NHL Chicago Blackhawks).
Seriously, if Rush does get to purchase the team and renames it to the St. Louis Republicans, perhaps he can have one or two Blacks and Latinos on their team to make it more representative.
Ahw come on now, you know that’s funny. OK, let me be fair. If some Democrat buys a team he/she can make sure everyone is represented, but who would be the quarterback? (Some will get that joke and many won’t.)
Who knows, being around so many Black people may open Rush’s mind and heart up.
UPDATE: NFL/Rams Owner; Dave Checketts are not going to consider Rush Limbaugh’s offer. I’m a bit surprised, because I thought everyone including the NFL and Rush Limbaugh was colorblind. I guess green isn’t the only color they see, perhaps the colorful remarks repeatedly made by Rush was too vivid for them to consider. Oh Well Rush, keep doing what you’re doing. There’s always the NHL or even better the NBA. For once I was actually giving you the benefit of the mountain of doubts. It would have been an excellent test to see how true people like myself who disagrees with you would stand behind their rhetoric and not continue to support anything you’re apart of. It worked in Birmingham, why not St. Louis.
Meredith Vieira talks to actress Mackenzie Phillips about her long-standing incestuous relationship with her father, her struggle with drug addiction and other details revealed in her new memoir, “High on Arrival.”
After watching this interview with Meredith I want ask a question which you will see below, but this interview may put the question in better context.
I’ve included a clip from her interview on Oprah, but urge you to watch the interview with Meredith Vieira.
Incest; could this be an acceptable reason for getting an abortion?
Now don’t get upset with me for asking the question, I’m just pointing out one of the 800 lbs Gorilla’s in the room of this story. I’m not suggesting or advocating my morals onto anyone by asking, but I am interesting in knowing what you think now that you’ve listened to the interview.
Unfortunately I’ve had the opportunity to have conversations with victims of rape and incest. The over arching affects that sexual abuse has on the mind of the one being abuse can make a long lasting impression in so many areas of a persons life. I raise the question about abortion to make a point, but as I’ve said in previous conversations on this blog is that you have to consider others, because you never know what or why someone decides to do what they do. Sometimes its not so clear cut as right or wrong as we can conclude in this case. This is why I will continue to advocate the simple strategy of Considering Others. Even if I am criticized in the process and/or misunderstood. The meaning is within the message.
Share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions about this.
I know that there are some individuals who may privately think why CNN or any other network is even doing a series about Black people in America or anywhere else. Some may ask or feel slighted in some way, because there isn’t much direct attention offered to their race or heritage by the mainstream media. To those individuals I say to you that I empathize with you and welcome to being Black in America.
As someone who is fortunate enough to have been born Black in America I have learned that it’s more important to embrace and appreciate who I am, while doing the same to all other races and cultures. I commend CNN for taking on such a documentary, although I believe more Black people will tune in than Whites or any other race.
Too often many people feel that a program that emphasis a specific race is not directed for them and they should not pay much attention to it. I would beg to differ this point with you, because it should indicate that you should pay attention to it. It’s an opportunity for you to gain a more accurate depiction of a community, culture and race who some have limited contact with.
I’ve said it on previous occasions within this blog and I’ll reiterate it once again. This is the reason why the excuse that is often used by some to satisfy the guilt one may have in terms of race and their relationships in terms of it is often silently laughed at and not taken seriously. When you say, “You’re so articulate”, “One of my best friends is Black” or “I work with someone Black”. Even if this is true, I’m asking you not to say it. This is why. You shouldn’t feel that you have to make such a statement to justify to someone’s racial perceptions or aptitude towards a particular group. To make these sorts of statements indicates you look at that person first in the prism of their race instead of their character. They’re your friend, co-worker or spouse, not your Black friend, your Latina Co-worker or your White spouse.
One more thing, don’t be fooled and believe that this is some phenomenon limited to just White people; because I’ve heard Black people say similar things when confronted about race and their relationship with it regarding other races. Racism is not racist, anyone can be one.
Listen, be who you are, but don’t close your mind to the opportunities others can offer you because of the color of your or their skin. The more you socialize and learn about other cultures, the more you’ll realize how similar we all are. You have someone crazy in your family just as I do; if not then you’re the crazy one. J
Being Black in America is similar to being any other race in this country and unique at the same time. The misunderstanding, suspicion and apprehension we all have towards each other must end. The only way to do that is to begin to consider each other. This begins with you and ends with me.
CNN: Black In America 2 premiers July 22nd & 23rd at 8pm EST. I ask all of you who visit this blog on a regular basis to just take the opportunity to watch these series. I may be Black, but I’m not an expert on All Things Negro, but I’m always willing to join in on a conversation about Black people and race in general. We’re just as crazy and messed up as you, but we also have made tremendous contributions to the world and deserve the same respect and recognition as you also.
I rarely talk much about the industry that I’m in for various reasons. One reason could be that I’ve been doing it for a decade and getting tired of it and don’t even want to talk about it. It’s the skills that pays the bills is how I look at it. But today I noticed that there are a few things happening in the realm of our digital lifestyle.
FACEBOOK
Facebook announced that Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11:01 PM you will be able to choose a username for your facebook account. Similar to how Twitter has it. So instead of some long URL consisting of numbers and syntaxes you will be able to direct your friends, family and co-workers to your profile via www.facebook.com/username instead. I think that’s a welcomed change for many facebook users or someone who manages a facebook account for an organization.
DIGITAL TELEVISION
Well today is the last day those ‘rabbit ears’ will work on your old television, because tomorrow the U.S.F.C.C. will require all television broadcasters to only broadcast their programming with a digital signal. This means if you haven’t got a converter box for your old school television that sits on top of that other old school floor model television that hasn’t worked since Starsky & Hutch was on the air then you’re out of luck. If you have cable you’re OK.
The U.S. Government has offered a coupon you can apply for if you believe you will have difficulties purchasing the $60 USD converter box by going to https://www.dtv2009.gov/
MOBILE WARS
Just one week after Palm releases the Palm PRE we here AT&T/Apple announce the release of a newer and faster iPhone next week. I’m sticking with my Blackberry, although I’m a Mac User. I don’t see the need to jump on the bandwagon. I’m sure the new and improved iPhone that was release 18 months ago is working perfectly fine for the millions who purchased it and the people who get in my way each time I walk into my local Apple Store.
(My Typical Shopping Experience: No, thank you. I’m going to the software section. No ma’am I don’t work here. I agree the iPhone is nice. Oh, why don’t I have one? I’m happy with my Blackberry. Have you seen the Blackberry Storm? Someone just check me out so I can get out of here. I have debit card in hand.)
DISCONNECTED
I believe many of us are guilty of being so connected that we’ve lost or fear the thought of being disconnected. I’m just as guilty as anyone else. My Blackberry has become one of the primary means of communication for my family, friends, church members and co-workers.
When you find yourself in church going to the Bible on your phone instead of picking up the book in front of you, then you know you have gone digital. Presently, I’m developing the platform for expanding the various church ministries using new technologies. CDs & DVDs are nice, but now it’s Podcasts, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and broadcast text messages to the members and visitors.
I find myself carrying my phone with me while I’m at home, because I don’t want to miss that email, tweet, instant message or the occasional phone call. It’s funny, but it’s sad. We’ve become so connected that we’ve become disconnected from anything that isn’t ran off of a battery or requires a WiFi connection.
So what is my solution? Don’t worry, because who am I to tell you to disconnect. I’m suggesting… (Hold on someone just sent me a tweet)… OK. I’m sorry about that, what was I saying? Oh yeah.
What I’m suggesting is that we begin to incorporate time to disconnect each day. You can even program it into your wireless device to remind you. We have DVR so we actually won’t miss our favorite shows, we have voice-mail or an inbox, so we can respond to that call or email when… (BIG SIGH. Hold on. WHAT! You’re OK, but I’m trying to write about disconnecting. WTH LMAO I’ll send them a tweet. LU2)… sorry about that. We can stop all the interruption of life by talking time to disconnect and spending time with family, friends or just reading a book at your local park.
MY GOODNESS, WHO’S EMAILING ME NOW. Hold on.
Anyway, I know it’s going to be difficult to do, but I am actually going to start doing this. So if you comment to this and I don’t respond right away you know why. I obviously have nothing against technology. I’m using it to communicate with you now while listening to my iPod and periodically responding to texts, emails, tweets and an instant message. I say this to myself in addition to those who choose to read it.
The obstacles the once stood in the doorway of our individual success continues to obstruct our collective paths toward progress and equality. There are many people within politics, organizations and various media personalities who essentially are standing in that doorway of progress. But our biggest deceiver is ourselves. We’re too busy lying to ourselves and trying to be apart of something or seeking approval to stop and think about what it is we’re doing or saying.
Remembers the old saying that “You may be able to trick people some of the times, but you can’t trick them all of the time“? Well that doesn’t mean that they won’t try to trick you all of the time.
Who’s doing the thinking, you or media? Regardless of whom you choose to be, when you truly embrace love, honesty and truth, your thoughts, attitude and relations change.
I’ve resisted responding to the ignorant claims of the R.N.C., (Rush, Newt & Cheney). A wise elderly woman who was a client of mine many years ago gave me this advice to deal with a few people that wanted to argue about the most pointless things. She told me, “If you stop feeding the stray cat it will eventually go away.” I understood that as saying that I’m fueling ones desire for attention and relevance by continuing an endless conversation with them after points have been made.
So why should I dignify the ridiculous claims from these individuals and others who play the same game? Make your point and continue on. It’s OK to seek consensus or help people better understand each other, but I’ve found it to be too taxing to continue to debate with anyone who only want to disagree.
A conscious mind is a reasoning mind. If you expose yourself to irrational and/or deceptive thoughts or actions as true, it will soon become your truth. Guard yourself with reason, wisdom, logic and ethical truth. Continuing to employ whatever is said to you must be true, because you heard it on the radio, read it in a newspaper or on the internet or seen it on TV philosophy will keep you on the fringe of reality. You’ll find yourself making ridiculous claims without validating the facts with reality.
Consideration, logic and empathy are no longer required in our society today. Whether in politics, religion, education or relationships. All many of us do is watch, read, listen and repeat is needed. Think about what you’re saying, analyze what you project and demonstrate concern and consideration before reacting.
Thanks my thought, idea and suggestion for today. Enjoy.
For those who believe that I have an ax to grind with Conservatives and/or the Republican Party, please allow me to make this statement as clearly as possible. I do not have a problem with individuals who choose to be Conservatives even those who have issues with me being Liberal. I respect your embrace of conservatism, just as I appreciate those who respect my embrace of moderate liberalism (isn’t that just as oxymoranic as compassionate conservative).
It’s not those who are Conservatives that I have the issue with. It’s not even those who are true Republicans I have issue with. I believe many of the few True Republicans or should I say the Moderate Republicans do not like the extreme the GOP has gone and continues to go either. It’s not necessarily the Republican Party I have the issue with, but the extreme, exclusionist element that has hijacked the GOP is the problem. Now I do not pretend that the Democratic Party is perfect either, but I’m sure someone will accuse me of suggesting such.
Now I’ve said all that I believe I need to say in regards to the issue of torture, which includes waterboarding. I’m still amazed by those who feel the need to defend the use of torture. I’ve personally given up seeking common ground with these individuals in hopes they will some day realize their error and join the rest of us, both Liberals and Conservatives in our collective outrage on the use and endorcement of torture by the Bush/CHENEY Administration.
I give Eric “Man Cow” Muller, an extreme right-wing radio talk show host from Chicago credit for actually doing what so many who agreed with him (at least before this incident) in regarding waterboarding wouldn’t do, such as Sean Hannity. Mr. Muller didn’t believe waterboarding was torture and has repeatedly told his radio audience such among many other things for awhile. Since so many refuse to listen to the reasoning of Liberals or Moderate Conservatives, perhaps they will consider the words of one of their own.
Thank You Mr. Muller for having the courage to stand by your claims and test to see if waterboarding is torture.

Now I know this is rare, so I had to document it. A Republican journalist that sounds like he should be on FOX News actually offered a truthful answer to a question regarding Rep. John Boehner’s “Terror Ad”. I’m shocked.
WOW! Just Amazing. Do Black men really scare you that much?
I haven’t seen a group of people so opposed to everything since, well I’ve never seen a group of people this opposed to anything and everything. The Republican Party has truly made themselves into the Party of No.
For more than 100 days now all we’ve heard from the GOP is NOPE. I didn’t think they would take Nancy Reagan’s “Just Say No” campaign so seriously. Come on now guys cheer up. You don’t hear the Detroit Lions say no to the NFL Draft. They’re regrouping and do better next year.
Oh Well. I just wanted to share this little video that I found amusing. I would ask Republicans if they like it, but they’ll probably just say…
I almost could not believe this one, because I’m generally weary of people who were closely connected to Karl Rove & George W. Bush. But I guess anyone can have a change of heart if former deputy to Karl Rove and John McCain’s 2008 Presidential Campaign Strategist can made a shocking proposal regarding gay marriage. Shocking because it’s a new position from him and those like him to take an inclusive and open-minded position on gay marriage when he has worked tirelessly against the very subject.
Mr. Steve Schmidt said…
“It can not be argued that marriage between people of the same sex is un-American or threatens the rights of others. Denying two consenting adults of the same sex the right to form a lawful union that is protected and respected by the state denies them two of the most basic natural rights affirmed in the preamble of our Declaration of Independence – Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” (Source: CNN)
I’m sure some may unintentionally argue this basic question, “What about my right to discriminate against gays?”
Well it would be un-American for anyone to prohibit your right to protest your freedoms. What would that profit anyone if I or anyone else mounted a campaign against your rights? I’m not forcing you to accept what I believe, but only exercising my right to reason. I do not want to prevent you from discriminating, because I too discriminate against ignorance, bigotry, prejudice and narrow-mindedness. So in efforts for equality I want it recorded that I am not seeking to prevent you from discriminating, just asking you who, what and why you are discriminating.
Anyone can have a change of heart and position. I too have seen the error of my ways and made conscience efforts towards truth and reconciliation. Perhaps Mr. Schmidt is seeking the same.
As one commenter suggested on an unlikely website for this sort of discussion, Mac Life.
“Some Republicans believe the period of self-examination within the party necessitated by the loss of our majority status is mostly a question of whether the party should become more moderate or conservative; I think that’s a false choice. We need to grow our coalition, but as I said, that’s hard to do if we lose some votes while gaining others.”
I find it interesting how he knows what Steve Schmidt planned to say, amazing.
Even on ultra conservative websites such as Power Line are suspicious of this one. Finally, the left and right agree on something, although both may deny it.
The GOP Network, no I’m not referring to the FOX Network.
“If I had to recommend one single thing that the Republicans should be doing to help articulate the message, it is to acquire another television network so that there is not just FOX.” (Source: C-SPAN – 04/06/09 Robert G. Kaufman)
Well… Mr. Kaufman I think you may have a few phone calls coming your way from the leaders of the Republican Party. Oh, not the RNC Chairman Michael Steele, Mitch McConnell and friends, but Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and Joe The Plumber.
So are you admitting what many know is true, but persistently deny. The GOP indirectly controls the mission of FOX News programming? Say it ain’t so Joe. Oh not you Mr. Plumber, it’s a… never-mind.
Which network do you suggest the GOP seek to indoctrinate? I have a few suggestions, but open to your suggestions.
CNN – You already have Lou Dobbs “Mr. Independent”, but you may have a time with my man Roland Martin and Anderson Cooper. Wolf Blitzer may give you a run for the money too. So that’s out.
NPT – I seriously doubt this would ever happen, because you would have to be truthful and have substance, so this network is out.
Lifetime – You’ll have a better chance on BET than getting on this network, so this one is out too.
CMT – Well you already have a segment of its demographics, but I’m not too sure this one would go over too well. The audience may be country, but enough of its viewers are sophisticated enough to tune out your message like a broken guitar string. So once again, they’re out.
The Cartoon Network – Now this one may work. The audience has a short attention span and the logic of your leadership is similar to its programming. The only thing is Oscar the Grouch may provide a vigorous debate that may go over the heads of some, but it’s worth a try.
Good luck with that, but what are you going to do with Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck? May I suggest offering them a reoccurring role on Scooby Doo, perhaps Barney.
Perhaps this may help some of those conservatives who were tea bagging yesterday understand how the government works, before accusing the President of something that hasn’t happen yet.
Enjoy. I hope this holds you off until my post that will coming soon.
Notice — This one is long, but I think you will enjoy the laughs unless you’re a Republican. Then you may not find the humor in it. J
Disclaimer — Before I even start this one I must ask some of you reading this to please excuse my play on certain words and phrases, but I can’t resist this one. I will be as cautious as possible. For those who don’t know what I’m referring to don’t worry about it.
Let’s begin…
*I’m walking to the podium now for the TI&S Press Conference regarding the activities going on today with the so-called Republican Tea Party.*
Republican T-Bagging
Who’s bright ideas was this and what in the Hell were they thinking?
If you’re going to have a protest that you’re attempting to reference history there has to be a connection, truth in your reference. I will spare the American history lesson, but to summarize the revolt that is known as the Boston Tea Party that occurred in 1773 you got to consider the conditions that sparked that revolt. The phrase many of you’ve heard of before, taxation WITHOUT Representation was at the heart of this protest.
What the Republican Party is doing is the opposite and still confuses me why this?
Taxation with Representation
Alright let’s have a three minute lesson about basic American History. The original premise of the Boston Tea Party was the right for our own representatives to make decisions about our Tax policies not Great Britain.
Now I know this is difficult for the organizers to fully comprehend, but let me help you understand it better. You see back in the 1970’s there was a video by Schoolhouse Rock called “No More Kings” that really helped me understand the Boston Tea Party maybe you can have this video ran on FOX News.
Silly Scare Tactics
The ridiculous cry of socialist doesn’t fit. Do you realize how you participate in the dreaded socialism? No you probably don’t, because you’re grabbing hold to the claims of a delusional Right-Wing Radio Talk Show Host and the equally erratic hosts on FOX News to base you claims of Socialism, Liberals, Fascism and Marxism.
So I thought that I help you out on this one.
Who in the crowd today knows the definition of socialism?
No. One at a time.
OK big guy in the back… Um that’s incorrect.
Yes, you with the cheese sandwich… WHAT! No the Bible has nothing to do with this.
Let me help you out.
Socialism is a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole. So to offer a real-life definition for you, it’s like the program you as taxpayers contribute to and will participate in when you retire; Social Security, Medicare. So for those with parents of retirement age, this means your momma is a socialist.
If you disagree with me ask your Republican member of Congress to publicly denounce Medicare or Social Security and let’s see what happens.
Alright, next question. Who can tell me what is liberalism?
Um Sir, there’s no need to curse. Calm down. OK, you can call me uppity, but you’re too scared to say the rest. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, please sit down.
Yes you, the gentleman the corner with the stuffed animal in your hand. Do you know the answer?
OK, someone who hasn’t been drinking or indoctrinated by Rush Limbaugh and FOX News.
Alright the older lady with the t-shirt on.
I thought I recognized you. NO, the President is not an Arab. Ma’am, please take your medicine.
Anyone else…
<Big Sigh> My goodness, this is ridiculous. Seriously, how did you graduate?
Liberalism is a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual. That sounds like something like various arguments we’ve heard from Republicans. A nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties. Hmmm… Where have we seen this before?
So since this is suppose to be a peaceful protest of an economic institution [IRS] doesn’t this mean you all are Liberals? Hey, I’m just looking at the definition of the word and comparing it to your actions and words. Don’t get mad at me.
The Fringe of Sanity
Each time someone makes the ridiculous notion that has been proven false by the state of Hawaii of the citizenship of the President it weakens the credibility of your entire group. If you really want to get at the heart of your fear I can, but I don’t think you want to go there.
Republican Taxusations
What you fail to understand about President Obama’s tax plan is beyond me, because I can’t see how it can be said more elementary than it has already been said. Let’s see if we can make it so easy that even Joe the Plumber can understand it.
Click Here to see the Tax Policy Center’s 2008 Comparison of Obama & McCain’s Tax Proposals and decides if your accusations prove to be accurate of President Obama.
Click Here to view FactCheck.org’s research of then Presidential Candidates Obama & McCain tax plans.
Chick Here to view The White House overview of President Obama’s tax agenda.
If you can read and comprehend English you can understand this. The claim of President Obama raising taxes are false and the carryover from the McCain Campaign. The lie has been proven false by factcheck.org. Your ‘outrage’ is foolish at best unless everyone protesting makes $250,001.00 or more a year. If so, I can understand your outrage.
Republican T-Bagging
I guess we’ll see who’s standing over whom when this over. My guess is that this is going to backfire, but let’s wait to see who’s going to be on their knees.
I’m trying to hold back, but I think I’m gonna… talk about the people at the center of this one. Oh tell me it isn’t so, Sen. David Vitter, Newt Gingrich and Dick Army. Oh this is too good. This should help me reach the climax of this blog post. But I can’t forget the media mouthpieces for the T-Bagging with FOX News’ Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity’s excitement over the event.
OH REALLY. FOX News was there in Washington DC October 16, 1995 for the Million Man March. You’re making this too easy, but since I like kicking a man when he’s down lets see what a simple Google search comes up with shall we.
WHAT! FOX News has been in operations since October 7, 1996. (Source) How can that be, that means either the Newscorp website is wrong or you do not have a proper understanding of time. You see that was practically a year before you came on the air. It’s OK, my 4 year old son made the same mistake.
Final Analysis
I know you all are upset. You feel used. During the last election McCain/Palin basically t-bagged their morals for political gain and conservatives got screwed again. This demonstration is entertaining, because I’ve enjoyed myself. Listen, I only want you all to get off your knees and stand-up. Stop falling for the same old tricks. Who’s leading you?
Do you understand exactly what you are protesting and from whom are to blame for the tax increases? I don’t believe you do, because if you did you all would be Democrats.
Conservative Charlie Brown Moment Side-Note
As many conservative bloggers are still wiping the Easter egg off of your face from this past weekend when they called President Obama weak and a pantywaist I hope you rethink your involvement or cover of your latest Charlie Brown moment. Maybe this time you’ll be able to actually kick the football, since President Obama snatched the football away by ordering the Navy Snipers to shoot to kill the Somali Pirates.
President Obama gave you a clear hint between him and the Republican paper leaders, “I like to know what I’m talking about before I speak.”
Its OK Charlie Brown at least you tried.
Oh don’t bother him Snoopy, Charlie Brown’s upset right now. Stop laughing Woodstock.
Who’s Participating
Besides the misinformed Republican lawmakers and governors have signed on to speak at local events so you’ll know the individuals who’s promoting this to bring them into question.
Former Rep. David Davis (R-TN)
Representatives from Sen. Bob Corker’s (R-TN) office
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT)
Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT)
Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-KS)
Representative from Rep. Sam Graves’ (R-MO) office
This is the new catchy slogan that’s currently being advertised by shipping giant UPS. I want to use the slogan as a political diversity campaign, but I’ll save that one for another day if someone doesn’t still it first. I’m sure the UPS lawyers may ensure that does not happen, even from me.
Although I understand ThinkProgress email campaign in protest to the sponsors I agree with what the Ford spokesman suggest when speaking for him. Although this is a legal method it opens the door of criticism to come in towards you too. To best get rid of the O’Reilly Factor is to make it not a factor by changing the channel. There will always be someone who will want to watch and listen to what Bill O’Reilly has to say.
