Democrats, We Have Work To Do

The reason why I am not persuaded by Conservative hostilities, lies and attacks, because they are often baseless or thinly laced with truth. I have observed this group of people with this mindset for awhile and have learned some amazing things from them, none that I would ever suggest.

Many will get upset with me for stating what is true or obvious. I’m only stating the facts without spewing hate in the process. More than the response some may offer, observe how they respond. You can not consider any validity within a hateful response, only learn from the motivations and triggers for the response. They will get even more upset with you, but that doesn’t change what is true.

President Obama and anyone who is like him present Republicans, Conservatives and the uninformed or diversely neglected a distinctive challenge many are unwilling to address with sincerity or truth.

Often we have wasted our time arguing with them without having an understand of what it is to be a Conservative/Republican today. They will offer you the original definition of a Republican back when the party started, but they have been dancing to the beat of a different rhythm for many decades now. In fact it was the artist formally known as the Democrats before both got a change of ‘strategy’. So you must understand the Republican of today if you intend on getting what is important accomplished.

Their problem with President Obama and anyone with similar characteristics of this President is that your existence is a challenge to what they have been taught to understand is true.

Most Conservatives do not see their behavior, language or perceptions as being wrong or offensive, because it aligns with tradition as they have been taught or understand them to be. Liberals see it as an intolerance of ambiguity and an inability to deal with multiple complex issues at once. You only have to observe their behavior, language and perceptions during highly debated issues such as healthcare reform, financial reform and immigration to name a few. Listen to what they say, watch what they do and learn. They’re showing you their playbook in bits.

For many of them the issues has to be straight cut, right or wrong, no gray areas. For many Conservatives who misunderstand and have misappropriated what it is to be liberal, find these things as nuances to them as Conservatives are to Liberals.

President Obama is not what many Conservatives say that he is, but understand how they think. Yes, some is due to race, even if they choose to deny it, but not all. I believe I’m understanding what President Obama is saying and doing by not casting all with the same net. Because the existence of someone like a President Obama is a psychological challenge to Conservatives. The challenge is how to contend with a multi-faceted thinker who can see things from multiple perspectives at the same time.

Many will seek to challenge you, but I ask them to challenge PolitiFact, challenge mathematics, challenge history or challenge reality if you don’t believe it, but that doesn’t mean you’re correct if you do.

Those of you who are Democrats, Progressives, Liberals or call yourself Independents; realize your advantage and keep moving forward. Some people are persuaded by perceptions, but let truth be what persuades you.

I’m not worried about the Republican Party and their adversarial friends. They’re actually proud of themselves. They feel united, but look at what has united them and this is why you can be encouraged, because regardless how much you tell them the problem and solution, they will not accept it. They need to hate you to be who they are.

Stop worrying about them. Let them do what they do. We have better things to do than be held back by inconsideration. Let them have tea at their grand ole party, we have work to do.

If you do not believe me, observe how they respond more than what they say in their response and you’ll see what I’m talking about. I can be open about it, because they will not catch what I’m saying, but I know you do. Just watch.

How Partisan Are You?

I have a question for everyone who believes they’re open-minded enough to answer it. We all have found ourselves at some point in time irritated with the partisanship found primarily between Democrats and Republicans. The boxes we willingly place ourselves into is an indicator of the limitations we place on ourselves and others.

However alluring or comfortable it may be this is not an opportunity for you to take shots at the opposing party, but a chance to consider the source of the problem. So who amongst the voting population is free enough to seriously answer this question.

Republicans:

If you tend to vote Republican more often than you have for any other political party for whatever the reason may have been, then I ask you to respond to this question.

Why Democrats Should Support the Republican Tea Party

I’ve been asked for my thoughts on the Republican Tea Party ‘convention’ this past weekend and at first I really didn’t care too much about them, because I didn’t see it as a Demcractic problem, but a Republican problem. So after thinking about it this is what I have to say about it. I’m sure someone will hate me for it, but it is your choice to hate.

My Fellow Democrats — I have not lost my mind. I think you’ll find the meaning in this message quite delightful. Just sit back and enjoy the conversation.

True Republicans – All I can honestly say to you is good luck dealing with this infestation you have in your house. I’m happy to crush some of them if they escape from your reach, but you have a real problem on your hands. Good Luck.

Republican Tea Party – Although you will never believe it, I now thank you for the work that you’re doing. Your existence and constant cries to be seen and heard is a tremendous benefit to the work that I try to do. You help me spotlight the real issue that is helping destroy the U.S. So as a Democrat I’m asking you to keep it up while you can.

Why Democrats should support the Republican Tea Party?

Now some may think I have lost it by even suggesting Democrats support the Republican Tea Party, but think about what essentially they’re doing and you may understand why I say support them. Support them not in their ideology or actions, but support them by allowing them continue to speak and represent the Republican Party. The fire is within the GOP now and no effort by any Independent or Democrat can put it out. Some conservatives believe this is what the GOP needs, but in reality it isn’t.

Here’s where people will really get upset with me, but oh well.

This Republican Tea Party ‘movement’ is a politically, socially & culturally ideological cancer that is determined to consume the Republican Party. Although it has been diagnosed repeatedly by Democrats, Independents and even concerned and true Republicans it has gone untreated for decades and now it is a mass of itself onto the Republican Party at its most vulnerable time.

Some Democrats are missing the point and we waste our time addressing these people as if they were credible. It is not a Democratic problem, but a Republican problem. Listen to what I’m telling you Democrats. Address the Tea Party as it is, a Republican Problem because the warning signs have been there for decades and they have allowed it to fester into what is now labeled as the Republican Tea Party.

Watch how and what the Tea Party participants attack and you will find their weakness, because it’s what they are trying to cover up.

They are a threat to true Republicans, not Democrats as they want you to believe. Allow them to write their own history, because it is essentially what they are making the Republican Party; history.

No matter how much evidence you show them of how wrong, exlusionistic or hypocritical they are none of them have the mind to comprehend it. You can shut them down with knowledge of history; your history and theirs.

Try to understand it this way. No one wants to be called a racist, not even the racist. They know who they are and they know what they’re doing. An example to put it in perspective. Blacks, Jews, Latinos, Arabs, Asians and our Gay/Lesbian friend of these groups can not reform the White Supremecist; only Whites can do that because not all White people are racist. I would suggest many are not, but many choose to not address the racist as an attempt to minimize it. This is not a viable solution. Another example, if you were diagnose diagnosed with a disease you don’t say oh well or I don’t believe it, you get a second opinion and third if you wish. If the symptoms persist you would do something about it, right? This is essentially what the Republican Party has failed to do since the Southern Strategy was put into practice and now they have a serious problem. Some may refuse to admit it, but when you think of a Republican and/or even a Teabagger what’s the image that appears in your head? I guarantee it wasn’t a female or a person of color if you’re being honest. You can just do a Google image search on “Republican or Tea Party” if you’re unwilling to confront the question yourself and you’ll discover the commonality of the people within the images.

Democrats, lets stop fighting the Republican Tea Party folks as frustrated the hypocrisy may be and let Republicans define themselves. They will either side with these people who have infected their party or stand up for truth like the Republican Party was originally founded upon, not what some have made Republican/Conservativism out to mean today. Democrat you should take the time to learn the history of both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party in addition to the U.S. history of discrimination, because many of these people don’t understand the social and cultural implications of what they’re doing and how it continues to stain the GOP.

These people of the Republican Tea Party are desperately seeking attention and acknowledgment from the broader society. Although it’s mostly unrealized to them, but the psychological impact of a changing cultural demographics and being socially, intellectually, economically, politically and culturally left behind subconsciously is what motivates them to do the things they’re doing and remain unaware of what it is that they’re essentially doing.

Politically speaking this is a Republican problem. Let Republicans address this issue. If they continue to avoid it, it’s just going to consume them and as a result the few true Republicans that may remain will not have the conscious to continue supporting such an ideology that goes against what they’ve been taught.

OK, you can hate me now if that’s you choice to hate.*

How do you unite the state of America?

I’ve gotten so fed up with the state of American politics, that I don’t think it’s worth the time and effort to untangle the web it’s woven for itself. After reading a story about Republicans, Democrats, Congress, The White House, November Elections etcetera I’m left with what I have to say below. Enjoy.

Republicans — You may believe you have an opportunity to make huge gains and take over the House & Senate this fall and anything is possible, but it’s unlikely. This is the reason why.

You have to contend with the factions within your own party who seeks to control the party’s message. That message has been a consistent one that continues to broaden the divide between the staunchly conservative Republicans and the moderate Republicans. It continues to broaden the divide between the Republicans and anyone who isn’t White, Christian or lives in the South. You have to contend with the Tea Party folks. I don’t know how you can silence this group of misinformed, scared and fringe of society Americans. They will continue to make the Republican Party look like the political arm of the Conservative Citizens Council. For those who don’t know who that is, and then look it up.

There isn’t any reason to get upset with me. If you would listen to what I’ve been telling you, you would realize the various hints I’ve given on this blog on how to make strong gains on the Democrats, but you won’t listen so, there you go. Enjoy the fight with the Tea-baggers. I hope you bring them to their electoral knees. (No pun intended)

Democrats – You may believe you’re safe this political season, but you’re not. What is a majority if you think like the minority? This has been your problem ever since November 2006 & 2008. Yes, Bush/Cheney are finally gone. Yeah! I’m happy to, but if you don’t use this opportunity to do something to rectify the turmoil and damage they inflicted to the middle class and lower then they will fall victim once again to the electoral vultures who only seek their support to get in power before they kick them back to the curb with their pants on the ground.

So Democrats it’s good that brains are back in Washington, but if you continue to act stupid then what can one smart person really achieve in a chamber of idiots?

I believe you can do this right only if you recognize who you should fight. It’s not the Republicans. They can continue to say No to anything and everything and complain and point fingers at you all day long. None of it will make a difference if you’re doing what you’re suppose to be doing and communicating that with the American people. As long as you continue to engage the Republicans with the same nonsense as they dish out, you will be nothing more than the minority party, regardless if you’re temporally in the majority.

Mainstream Media – I know it’s your job to report the story, but is it your job to distort the story too? SOME of you are intentionally scaring people who are already stressed and battered by the inundation of sensationalism. SOME of you are skewing the facts deliberately for ratings. This is not just FOX News, but unfortunately you can find it at times on MSNBC & CNN, not to mention others. People are listening and watching you. Some are naïve enough to give you more credibility than you deserve or have earned. The time for you to honestly report the news, challenge politicians and the people who protest of the truth in their facts and actions. If not, you should just change the title from news to entertainment.

Americans – Pay attention, think and research a variety of sources, not just the ones that leans towards your ideology. I personally think certain conservative radio show hosts are some of the most despicable people walking today, but if you consider what they’re saying and fact check it not with FOX News, but other organizations that are not in the business of ratings, subscribers or hits you may discover what really true. When and/if you do then you’re able to challenge those same folks with fairly measured truths on your side.

Also, consider others beyond yourself and your point-of-view. I may not always agree with some of my more conservative friends, but I’ve learned from them by listening to their concerns and perspectives and so have they from me. This is how you discover the truth, because what may be true for you may not be true for me. Consider other realities beyond your own.

The White House – Good luck. I’ve given up my consideration and desire to run for political office, but I wish you the best. This is true for the present administration and future administrations of any political party that has the true interests of American citizens at heart.

Conclusion — I give up. Don’t worry I’m still going to vote and continue to be involved in my civic participation opportunities, but I believe I believe my voice and voices like mine of both parties are not being heard over the constant chatter of the pundits, politicians and political prognosticators. I have to focus my attention on broader things than exclusive coverage of American politics as messed up as it has become. There’s other things that’s ruining the world and that’s what I’m going to focus more of my energy upon. Yes I will revisit American politics, but not as critically as before. Unfortunately it’s just not worth the efforts anymore.

State of the Union 2010 (Part A)

I’ve honestly tried to cover the whole of what was mentioned during the State of the Union by President Obama. There’s so much I’ve decided to break it out into parts for easier reading and hopefully comprehension.

I want to offer this one point early that Chris Matthews of MSNBC offered that I believe was the point I’ve been trying to make to many people for the past year specifically regarding this President as it relates to America’s racial perceptions and history. He said, “I didn’t see him as the Black President, but simple as the President.”

You are absolutely correct. Yes, race has and continues to play a significant role in the prism we ALL have perceived this President, no matter how subtle or overt we have chosen to acknowledge this fact. What I believe Chris Matthews was essentially suggesting was that he paid more attention to the content of his character, than the color of his skin.

So I begin by asking a question of those who has decided to criticize this President for anything that goes wrong and those who seeks to apologize on behalf of this President for what may go wrong. Here’s the question for consideration.

As President, how would you effectively navigate these issues that President Obama has to contend with in the midst of a political party who refuses to cooperate with you unless it’s on their terms, another party too timid to act, people questioning your patriotism, citizenship, legitimacy and leadership. While calling you a racist, socialist and other ridiculous names in midst of a recession and two wars that was not of your doing? How would you navigate through that?

As you’re contemplating that, allow me to offer my take on President Obama’s first State of the Union.

SOTU 2010 Part A:
First to admit a bias, I absolutely love how he began the speech, because he was teaching in a way. Walking down the rhetorical middle invites all to walk with him on this oratorical journey. He’s grabbing your hand in a gesture of consideration of our common interests. So you normally will get a silent smile and attention from me when I recognize you doing that.

One more thing, I love the line giving in the introduction, “A Stubborn Resilience in the Face of Adversity”. I’ve got to use that.

Alright, first point…

Now the line I believe may have been overlooked was at the beginning. “Tonight I would like to talk about how together we can deliver on that promise.” Four words, TOGETHER WE CAN DELIVER is what is missing in practice of our decisions, instead we trend our comfort to I or we doesn’t include me or you and the only thing delivered is cynicism.

The State of the Economy
The Financial Rescue Program was initially created by the previous Administration. I guess better late than never, but not to focus on the mistakes of the previous administration it was when this administration took it over where it was enacted. Remember it was the 11th hour when the previous administration finally had to address the economy, bags were already packed. So this administration modified it to make it more transparent and accountable to the tax paying public. In only a year MOST of the money that so many were complaining about has been recovered that was spent on the banks. Now let that sink in for a quick second.

Let’s briefly mention a few of these things for consideration.

As the administration took steps to stabilize the economy, they also took actions to get it growing once again by trying to save as many jobs they could and assist those who became unemployed. The extension of unemployment benefits to more than 18 million Americans, sought to make health insurance 65% cheaper for families who receive coverage on COBRA. Less I mention to my more conservative friends the 25 different tax cuts. Yet some still are not satisfied.

Side Note: Another line I loved was when the President said, “That’s Right, The Recovery Act, also known as the Stimulus Bill” as if he was saying “Yeah I said it, now what.”

Built to Compete
As the President was speaking about Clean Energy Jobs, small businesses and slashing the tax breaks for companies that ships jobs oversees the camera panned the gallery and a ‘majority’ was standing, but a certain ‘minority’ wasn’t. I’m not speaking about race or gender, but affiliation. I found that very interesting. Wouldn’t you think if a certain group was Pro-America as they campaign to be they would be against companies that shipped American jobs oversees? Yet, some still are not satisfied.

Now I thought it was politically clever that the President said that he wanted a jobs bill on his desk without delay in terms of placing pressure on the Senate to act, since they have been much of the problem. What’s clever is that no time table was mention. I’m not going to hammer the President on this one just yet, because I believe it is a wise political move and proves lessons learned. This too has gone unnoticed by the critics on both sides.

Jobs, No Patience
7 Million Jobs were lost, 2 million created, but still we have 5 million more to go just to break even. Many can’t afford to have the patience of Job when it comes to jobs. But this situation wasn’t of this President’s doing, but at least he’s working to resolve it.

The U.S. can not afford to do nothing, someone has to be willing to have some faith in our own abilities and do something to get things done. Yet, some still are not satisfied.

How Long, Not Long
Now for those who know the speeches, sermons and writings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this line may ring familiar when the President asked the question, How Long? Keep in mind that President Obama is well versed on Dr. King just as some of us are, so to me this was a nod in that direction. This has got to be one of the smoothest politically rhetorical remixes I’ve ever heard. See I couldn’t have been there, because the ‘preacher’s kid’ would have came out on that one. Some understand what I mean by that.

Side Note: Another great line. “I do not accept 2nd Place for the United States of America.

One more thing for those who watched the SOTU, notice how one side did not stand when the President said, we’ve got to get this right. Another reason why you have to look at the commitment of people, because some are just committed to NO.

The Overwhelming Scientific Evidence of Climate Change
Here’s an easy question for those who somehow insist there is no evidence of global warming. Consider who agrees with your position. Your boy Bin Laden deplores climate change. Now I gave you enough credit to believe you wouldn’t side with Bin Laden, but I guess I was wrong.

The point made that was significant and probably inarguable was that “the nation that leads on the clean energy economy is the nation that leads the global economy.”

The Pot Calling the Kettle Black

When I first read the story about the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s comments from his new book “Game Change” and all the flack from the Republicans I had to see what stick is up their… this time. So here’s what was said and then I have something special for both Sen. Harry Reid and the entire Republican Party & FOX News.

Sen. Harry Reid, who backed Obama’s candidacy, book says that President Obama is “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Now didn’t I write about this very thing in detail back in October 2009 for two weeks on my blog and many other occasions? You can just search the words race & politics and see what I’ve written about the two subjects. Page after page of accounts of the same scenario, with the same excuses and the same phony outrage from disingenuous personalities, politicians and pundits. And I will once again give the same response, but perhaps with a little more fervor this time.

First, I will address the Democrats in this situation, Sen. Harry Reid & President Obama. Then I will address the entire Republican Party and FOX News Channel.

Sen. Reid (D-NV)
Sigh… Dude… What the… Seriously…OK where do I begin?

Light Skinned – It’s almost funny when you think about it. President Obama is not necessarily considered light skinned, but whatever. I can actually excuse that one because it’s a matter of perception about complexion. But the Negro Dialect is one that I’m not letting you go unchecked on.

To even suggest something such as a “Negro Dialect” allows one to conclude your interpretation or understanding of race relations. I guess you may think privately that I “talk like a White boy” as some have suggested. Seriously man, what are you trying to say by that? “Negro Dialect” as if Black Americans speak differently than any other American. We all have cultural references, but its called slang. I’ve used some at the beginning of addressing you that would suggest my age group and socialization. That doesn’t mean I can’t speak intelligently and have credibility with those who may not choose to speak how I choose.

Just because of my race or your race doesn’t conclude difficulties or inabilities for us to engage in a dialogue on any level. I have something to learn just as I do to teach.

Side Note: Why doesn’t Congress have Sensibilities Training? Or even a political psychologist to teach them to think about what they say and do?

Republicans & FOX News
You’ve got to be kidding me. You of all people should keep quiet on matters of race & politics just as you do with your policies. Where do I begin? We can go back to an announcement from then Gov. Ronald Reagan in MS as a benchmark in Modern Republican Racial Politics if you like.

Do you not see the hypocrisy in your reactions?

Do you really want to invite someone like myself and others who would love nothing more than to address the preponderance of evidence you provide and perpetuate on matters of race & politics by speaking as if you have the moral authority to do so?

First of all Republicans in Congress & leadership, Shut Up. That’s not meant to be offensive, but instructions for your own benefit. I can go back only a couple of weeks to reference the latest incident not to mention the disingenuous townhall protesters you scared up to side against their own interest. I can even go as far as the chair of the RNC, Michael Steele. A man who is smart and has great potential to change the image, perception and function of the Republican Party to a more inclusive one in nature, but it has be squandered just as the previous Presidential Administration squandered democracy, political civility, not to mention the surplus on suspicious wars. But I digress.

Let’s not even begin with the Presidential election, because I can easily provide a number of incidents that REPUBLICANS were SILENT on in terms of RACE. Try me.

FOX News, shut up. I can respond to this entity in the format of a game show question. What is Glenn Beck? Do you not recall his statements about the President? Where was the Republican outrage then? Where was the conservative negro then?

Both Republican leadership and Congress with the perpetuation of the misconceptions by the hands of FOX News is like the pot calling the kettle black. You’re a hypocrite and politically transparent.

Comprehension of Black & White
One of the double standards here is from Black people.

Yeah I said it. We’re partially at fault in this matter when you think about it. When we make public gestures with coded language believing it is only understood by Black people we open the door for this sort of incident.

What do I mean by that?

Quit using coded language expecting non-Blacks, specifically Whites not to misinterpret its intentions, context and when to use it. It’s just like using the word Nigger. When someone hears you saying it, or at least accepting its use out of context in your presence or unchecked, then you shouldn’t get mad at them, nor call them a racist for misunderstanding the cultural context within the dialect.

The Bottom-line
Sen. Reid is like many White male politicians who believe they’re understood or fully accepted by Blacks. Just because you’re a Democrat doesn’t give you a Black Pass to say whatever. Just ask Bill Clinton or better yet, Hillary if you want some insight from a White perspective on the role of race in politics. They are excellent examples of how to misinterpret Black political support. There are many outstanding authors of many races who can provide a solid foundation on this subject. You don’t have to believe me, examine it for yourself.

Regardless of political party and beyond and specific race in America, if you don’t have a true discernment for the way race and politics work you will find yourself in this situation at some point.

The misunderstanding some had with the comments of then presidential candidate and senator Joe Biden made about then Sen. Obama caused uproar, but even then I said that he was not a racist.

You’re not exempt because you may have had some Black friends. What you must understand that it isn’t friendship with someone of another race that excludes you from the racist criticism and accusations, but relationship with people of other races and how you relate to them that provides exclusion from racist criticism and accusations. This is the point many Republicans & Democrats who hold office fail to comprehend.

Receive what I’m telling you on this; be prepared because it’s going to happen again. And when it does, don’t be like the pot who called the kettle black or any other descriptive terminology you may use.

*On 01/18/10 Chris Matthews, Tom Joyner and others are having a discussion on race & politics on MSNBC. I will surely post info about it later this week and on the day of. I encourage everyone to check it out in addition to paying attention to what is going on in our world in terms of race & politics. It may be uncomfortable for some to discuss, but these issues will never go away if we don’t openly talk about them and address this soul of the issue.*

It’s Hard Out Here for a Whip

Before I begin allow me to say that I know the Whip Party is no longer in existence. It’s just a play on words from a song that somehow won an Academy Award from the movie Hustle & Flow soundtrack. So you will have to find something else to criticize me on, unless you want to make the comparison of the Whip Party and the Republican Party in some ways.

With the recent announcement of two Democratic Senators and Governor, one would think the Democrats are experiencing some turnover issues. If that’s your spin on it then you’re wrong.

When you take a look at which party is experiencing the turnover problem you would have to look at whose walking out the door to your right.

In the House of Representatives there are 14 (Fourteen, XIV) Republicans as of the date this was published who have ‘decided’ not to seek re-election. Now if I do the fuzzy math that is 4 (Four, IV) more than the 10 (Ten, X) Democrats who has come to the same conclusion.

In the Senate there are 6 (Six, VI) Republicans as of the date this was published who have ‘decided’ not to seek re-election. Now if I do the fuzzy math again that is 4 (Four, IV) more than the 2 (Two, II) Democrats who has come to the same conclusion.

In terms of governors, several incumbents of both parties are term-limited and prevented from running again, but only 3 (Three, III) Democrats who can seek re-election have decided not to seek re-election. But for the Republicans, the magic number seems to be 4 (Four, IV) once again. Of course if we consider that governor who lives in a state were she can see Russia from her porch we would have to bump the number up to 5 (Five, V) for the GOP.

So when you compare the reality against the hype or spin from certain ‘News’ Channels the math isn’t so fuzzy anymore.

Four Democrats Infected with the GOP Disease

Well the choice is very simply. Four Democrats in the Senate have decided to be Republicans and oppose the health and well being of working Americans. They obviously have not read the definition or understand the meaning of OPTION. Regardless of how many times it is explained there will always be those who could care less about you and act like Republicans.

If this is your decision, prepare for the backlash and losing your seat in the senate. For far too long we have put up with these Republican tactics, tactics supported and incorporated by some Democrats because that’s all they understand to do.

My simple, but brutal suggestion for the Democrats is to do what you have to do to get this done, then actively work to get the following four Republicans who are masquerading as Democrats regardless of how they vote out of office with some Progressive Democrats.

So I encourage my fellow Democrats to actively support the Democrat who runs against the following Democratic Senators in the next primary. We already can not trust Republicans, now their cancer is spreading to the DNC in the form of…

  • Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA)
  • Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE)

    I agree with Dr. Howard Dean (Medical Physician, Former DNC Chairman, Former Governor of Vermont) when he said, “If you have members refusing to vote for Reid on procedural issues you will have a revolt in the party. What is the point of having a 60-vote margin?”

    In essence these Democrats are catching the GOP Disease.

    Perhaps these Democrats are just like the Republicans.

    The bottom-line is this and Republicans and Conservatives who has in the past opposed anything regardless of facts that I’ve presented will not disappoint me when they oppose this statement. It’s what they do, so I’ve learned to appreciate it. The bottom-line is that the Republicans are not and will not accomplish anything of benefit to everyday Americans. They only work to manipulate the system for those who are wealthy or influential enough to get to them. The time of hoping and praying they will return to the way they once were decades ago are likely not going to happen. Democrats like Joe Lieberman are just as bad if not worse. Worse, because they pretend to be for you and vote against you.

    The time is now to do what has to be done and either runs against these Republicans in disguise or vigorously support a Democrat who will. The whole healthcare debate has been blown way out of proportion and the voice of reason is hosting a State Dinner, dealing with two unjust wars and trying to restore a struggling economy. One person can not do it all, and can not be expected to.

    During the Civil Rights Movement Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy & Johnson, both Republicans and Democrats, all were pressured to get certain things done in terms of Civil Rights that was not understood or popular, but was morally right and just. I don’t need to give a history lesson, although much of this history was left out of the ‘mainstream’ history books. The point is that leaders took it to the streets, communities, and where people lived. Many people suffered, but we would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for the people who did what had to be done, not because it was popular, not because everyone understood it, but because it was moral right.

    Some in Congress on both sides of the political aisle only care about obtaining more power, money and influence. Few truly seek to do the work for the people, of the people and by the people. The few who do are people like you and me, both Republican and Democrat. Unfortunately the Republicans are not interested in working with Democrats, so that leaves us to do what has to be done, because it’s for the good of all, not just some.

    The Greatest Offense to Republicans and Conservatives

    The greatest offense to Republicans and Conservatives in regards to President Obama isn’t only about unconscious racism. (Conservatives includes some Democrats) In fact many would say that race has nothing to do with it, which may be the case for some of them, but certainly not all given the recent history and actions of the Republican Party as a whole. But I am and have been honest enough to admit that not all Republicans/Conservatives are racist, unconscious or intentional.

     

    The greatest offense to Republicans and Conservatives in regards to President Obama when you are honest is not President Obama himself, but what he represents to their own psyche. The conditions and circumstances that provided a path for him to become the President is the offense for some. The greatest offense is the tremendous moral blunders and cultural exposure to the inequalities, injustices and lack of strategic concern for those who may not look like, live, agree or align themselves with a conservative ideology.

     

    President George W. Bush, Vice-President Dick Cheney and the Republicans in leadership from 2000, but I would suggest beginning before then with the assistance of many Conservative Democrats helped prove the weakness of this ideology. Giving way for persons like Rush, Beck, O’Reily, Hannity, Palin and Cheney to disrupt the party.

     

    So when an ambitious, well educated man plays by the rules that have historically successfully prevented many people from achieving the office of President of the United States achieves what has been the impossible. You have a group of people who may not realize the true source of their anger and directs it at the person who won, instead of the person who enabled the impossibility to become possible; your fellow Republicans.

     

    When you hear all of the name calling and observe all of the threats and baseless opposition towards President Obama don’t get too upset with their misdirected anger and disappointment. The offense is a refection of the realization or contradiction to what was taught and reinforced by much of their social environments and cultural interactions. So when the Republican/Conservative who believes President Obama is a racist, a socialist, a Marxist, Hitler, not American and a ridiculous list of other things and calls themselves a Christian, all you can do is smile and try to explain to them where they’re wrong. Many are so committed to their ideology they fail to see the false ideas it has led them to believe, but you can try.

     

    I’ve learned that not all Republicans and Conservatives live and believe beyond the pale, some are reasonable, but they are called Moderates and are experiencing the purging of reason within their own party and efforts to eliminate them from the party they joined years ago. What they have been taught about the Democratic Party and what many Democrats have often demonstrated is not a suitable alternative for them either. So what are they to do? Where do they go from here?

     

    The Republicans are not what they use to be in years gone by. The invitation has been given to those to make a party that has become overwhelmingly homogenous in every way.

     

    Each time I’ve asked the question of Republicans/Conservatives, why the GOP is primarily made up of White men I never get a response. Each time I or others expose the root of an issue champion by Republicans that leads to questions, they never want to respond. Those who do respond ignore the question in effort to name call, point fingers and claim to be the righteousness of all that is good.

     

    When all parties realize that they greatest offense to them is not what they’ve been taught to hate, taught to mistrust, taught to believe perhaps we will find common ground. Until then we will continue to have the Republican Party being a party of No and a contingency within the Democratic Party called the Conservative Democrats who are too weak to stand up for what’s right.

     

    The greatest offense to the Republicans and Conservatives is not President Obama, but what he represents to them. A living example of what they don’t know, don’t understand and was not exposing to in vast number of experiences and opportunities.

    Response to Peace

    I wanted to return briefly to a post that I made a few days ago on Saturday, October 10th in regards to President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

    What I’ve found simply amazing is not the anticipated dissent from many Republicans, because sadly it has become expected, which is a strong indictment on the GOP than it is anyone else. What was amazing was another instance of where the overwhelming consent of the Republican Party is in agreement with the Taliban. This is becoming a political trend.

    How many U.S. Presidents have won the Nobel Peace Prize?

    Now my fellow Democrats we can not include Vice-President Al Gore’s win two years ago, although he got more votes in 2000. Like our Republicans friends like to remind us Bush won. Remember that point, because it will come back up in a few minutes.

    Now our 28th President, Woodrow Wilson (D) won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919 due to the personal control he took over the negotiations with Germany in the late stages of the World War. The Fourteen Points for a post-war world helped avoid another conflict. In the same year he went to Paris to create the League of Nations and helped shape the Treaty of Versailles. When he was back home in the U.S. he had a stroke while engaging in a bitter fight with the Republican-controlled Senate over forming the League of Nations.

    President Obama now joins the rank and stature of President Woodrow Wilson as a President who won the Nobel Peace Prize. Please do not allow the inability of certain members of Congress who can not embrace peace and true bipartisanship lead you to the same fate as President Wilson faced. It’s been 90 years since Woodrow Wilson won the same award and dealt with stubborn members of Congress. Do what needs to be done and let those who oppose peace continue to reveal themselves.

    Republicans can always reference President Theodore Roosevelt. President Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize like the guy he lost to in the 1908 Presidential Election, Woodrow Wilson. President Roosevelt negotiated an end to the Russo-Japanese War which earned him the Nobel Peace Prize.

    Although it’s been a little more than 90 year since a Republican President, during or after his administration has won the Nobel Peace Prize, Republicans should be proud of the accomplishments of this Presidents works towards peace. President Obama is now in the company of the only Republican President to win a Nobel Peace Prize. Talking about bipartisan effort for peace, it took over 90 years, but it’s happen once again.

    President Jimmy Carter (D) is the only President thus far to have won the Nobel Peace Prize after he left the office of President. President Carter won the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize “for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.”

    So President Obama is in good company, two Democrats and one Republican as a President and a Democratic Vice-President who has won the Nobel Peace Prize. Not bad in the eyes of most. Well with the exception of many Republicans like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh.

    Why do they oppose peace?

    So I say that it’s simply amazing at the levels some will go. No one can say that I’m injecting race, because I’m using the same ridiculous excuse those who are unconscious of racism use, especially in politics, because I’m using the quote of one Black guy to validate that it isn’t about race. :D

    The short-sided stance some have accepted that President Obama hasn’t achieved anything is interesting at best. But I guess looking through a tainted lens it could look that way. Like Rep. Grayson has said, it doesn’t matter what this President does many Republicans will not like it. He could discover the cure for cancer and they would still question, mistrust and hate him for it. There’s not much any facts, realities or truths can really do for these people. They are set to self-destruct and nothing you or I do will persuade them to change, they have to do it for themselves or let history view them as history has viewed people on the wrong side of an issue for years, wrong.

    BTW – How did Henry Kissinger get the prize during the Vietnam War? Oh, I forgot that’s different.

    So as there will be those who choose not to celebrate peace in any form, especially from a certain U.S. President named Barack Obama, they will not accept any truth or facts presented to them. So I suggest to simply allow them to destroy themselves as painful as it is to watch and preventable it is, it has to happen.

    I agree with many who support any effort of peace throughout the world when I say Congratulations once again Mr. President. Keep doing what you’re doing, the enemy is on the defense now.

    Stop Pandering #$&* @!

    I’m speaking specifically to Democrats on this one and those who calls themselves Democrats, but invite moderate Republicans or the traditional/real Republicans to consider this charge to.

    As a supporter of President Obama and believe he will do an excellent job, BUT he can’t do that when we do not keep his feet to the fire as we did George W. Bush. Unlike George W. Bush and most Republicans in Congress today, this President thinks long term.

    The Republican Party of today and its media arms in radio and television are diligently working not only to drive Congress off of the political fringe it’s currently on, but anyone who may validate their extreme invalid and unrealistic points of view. They, meaning the extremist within the Republican Party will continue their ridiculous opposition. Facts, reality, morality and truth are less important when it comes to their desire to control and posses’ power.

    The minority within this minority called the Republican Party are just as silent as the Democrats who are now in the majority. You’ll be surprised how much we may actually agree. I’m not unreasonable. I can and have disagreed with Democrats on many occasions. I may be a Democrat, but I’m not extreme or anything goes.

    But I say to my fellow Democrats and moderate/traditional Republicans, WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL. Stand-up and speak out for what you know is not right. I may be a Democrat, but I know that there are Republicans, who I like to call the ‘Real Republicans’ who are blown away by what their party has become. This is not the same party as it was many decades ago, but a carbon copy of what the Democrats were many decades before that. Now is absolutely not the time to sit on your hands and bite your tongue and be timid. Many simply talk loud, but are saying nothing and evidence they claim supports their theories are laughable, but their scare tactics are not funny, neither is your silence.

    If you are what you claim to be Democrats then Challenge Their Ass or go away. Many will only give you more of the rhetoric if you allow it. If you don’t know the truth, then seek it out for yourself; don’t combat nonsense with more nonsense. If you know it’s wrong then say it. But don’t just say it, explain why it is wrong and give a solution. Name calling on both sides gets us no where. There are Democrats who are proving themselves to be just as ridiculous as many Republicans of today are proving themselves to be. Now is not the time to remain silent, unless you really are as unsophisticated of a voter as the extremist believe you are.

    If you voted for a particular party, just because it’s ‘Your Party’ regardless if the candidates on top are making sense or not, then you’re an unsophisticated voter. If you voted for a particular candidate because the color of their skin, Black or White, then you are an unsophisticated voter. If you voted for someone because of their gender, then you are an unsophisticated voter. There is good and bad in all regardless of what their supporters may say. I love the Democratic Party, but there are elements of it I do not like. Just as I may oppose the actions of the Republican Party, but have little issues with some of it’s more moderate members. (You rarely hear me speak ill of certain people within the GOP who are moderate. Only the Karl Rovers and Dick Cheney’s of the party. I may speak kind of the more liberal members of the Democratic Party, but you rarely hear me reference them.) I’m not a Blue Dog Democrat, but I can play well with them just as I can the Hawks within the GOP, when they consider each other.

    SIDE-NOTE: We shouldn’t have a Republican democracy, nor should it be Democrats democracy, but we should have democracy. I won’t go into a U.S. Government or History class lesson today, but my goodness what in the Hell is wrong with some of these people on BOTH sides of the aisle.

    So I turn to you Democrats, because truth has basically written off the validity of many (not all) Republicans today. Democrats what are you going to do? What are you going to say? Or can I apply the stinging words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to you too when he said that “In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

    Today my Democrats, Liberal and even Moderate Republican friends are silent. Silent in speaking what is true, fair and logical to yield to the noise that is erupting from the scared, the hateful, the unsocialized and uncivilized within the Republican Party of today. Is the Democratic Party the party of change or the mute big brother of the smaller, but much louder Republican Party?

    Why I support the President is not because of race or ideology although I share both with this President. I understand what he’s seeking to achieve, but he is just an instrument. You are the change, Congress and the President is the vehicle to make that change, the judicial system are the enforcers of that change. Show you have the political and moral testicular fortitude to be the change that we believed in or just bend over and continue to let the extremist continue to… screw you, what were the Republican Party and the country as a whole up. Democrats, it is not the Republican Party that is the problem, nor is it the Democratic Party. It is what both are

    So I end with this, “He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.” What are you cooperating with?

    Quick Message to Democrats

    Originally, I had some harsh words for the Democratic Party and my fellow Democrats. After pushing it back a month I had to change it slightly because I’m finding it more important to urge the Democratic Party and my fellow Democrats to simply disregard the GOP and many Republicans, because many (not all) have simply choosen to oppose anything and everything, regardless of its validity.

    It’s a pure waste of time to even consider what many of them have to say, because they continue to show us the only things they are offering is hate, noise, disrespect and no solutions. Their answer to everything is No. You have not heard one realistic alternative. Republican Reform is to do nothing. So I ask Democrats to do what we put you there to do. Forget the GOP, because they have forgotten what they were elected to do.

    Democrats, it is not up to you to do what needs to be done. It’s up to you to lead and stop following every wind of ridiculous opposition that’s thrown in your way. Do What You’re Suppose To Do and don’t worry about the rest. It is the Democrats who were overwhelmingly elected in 2006 and 2008, not Republicans. So my fellow Democrats, IGNORE THEM. The few who has not been pushed out of their own party for being logical and demonstrating common sense will show themselves to be the good Republicans who may disagree with some things, but are willing to work together to do what’s best for all. The right-wing extremist and friends will only insult and complain, but offer no solutions. Disregard them, because they are not worth your time.

    Democrats, you need to speak out and stand up for what’s fair and equal or prepare to go home. Have a back bone and do the right thing. If it’s healthcare reform with a public OPTION, not public mandatory, OPITON, then do it. If it’s immigration reform, then let’s do it. You can’t expect the faithless to demonstrate faith on anything you do, that’s why you should have faith in yourself and try to fix what 8 years of Republicans in the White House, 6 years of Republicans in control of the Congress messed up. They will try, but they can’t dispute it with honesty. Surplus to Defecit, Peace to two Wars.

    Democrats, Do What You Were Elected To Do and __________ the Republican Party we see today or go home.

    Do Something Before It’s Too Late

    One of the most scariest images is an ideologically confused, unsocialized person with a gun in one hand and the Bible and Constitution in the other. What is more scary are the people who enables them.

    For weeks I’ve been writing about race, rage, religion and the right. Some has attributed all of this to one bloggers obsession with race and republicans. And your assumption would be wrong. Many people who are silent on these issues are so because they either sees the truth in what has been illustrated and/or they’re simply uncomfortable speaking with authority about any of these subjects.

    As I’ve illustrated last week is that it’s not always about race, it’s not always republicans, but it is about race and the role republicans are playing in the rage against this President. Many choose not to accept the reality of that truth, but what other logical conclusion can you draw if it isn’t about race? Politics is just the proxy, not the problem.

    I give up on the realistic relevance of the Republican Party these days. It doesn’t want anyone who will question its authority. It doesn’t want anyone who will demand discussion. It doesn’t want anyone who is progressive, moderate, Black, Latino, Muslim, Young or even female. If you’re White, Male and Southern you’re welcomed. As a southerner I know that’s not a fair assessment, but many polls are trending in that direction when it comes to the GOP. It’s trending higher to those groups. The Democratic Party is not infallible, but at least I’m welcomed.

    The fringes of society, whether it is the Birthers, the Deathers, the outrageous 2nd Amendment folks and the Racists they are not ruining the GOP, they have ruined the GOP. Who’s talking about bringing guns, Hitler, Nazis and the socialists. It’s not all Republicans, but it is a Republican problem and an American issue.

    I’m surprised about the silence of those Republicans who has previous criticized me on various issues. What is worse is the timid tendencies of Democrats confronting them. It’s not all Republicans, it’s not all Democrats, but when will we finally have a Conservative who will talk down the paranoia of Republicans to Republicans? When will we finally have Democrats speak critically towards the timidness of the Democrats to Democrats?

    I have restrained myself from saying this for many months, but I simply give up any possibility of having a reasonable conversation with most Republicans on many of these issues. I will continue to push Democrats to speak up, but their time is coming too if they don’t start doing what needs to be done.

    If what happened in November of 1963, February of 1965 or April of 1968 happens in today I will be sad, but I would feel sorry for those who helped caused it, because the blood would be on their hands. The outrage of the right could not match the rage that would come from the left and in the unexpected corners of society. I don’t want any of this to happen and urge people to do something more than nod in agreement or disagreement, do something before something happens. Before it’s too late.

    Where the Bloody Trail Leads

    I’ve been writing about the sum of when you add guns, ignorance, intolerance, paranoia and hate to any political discussion for awhile on this blog. Periodically for almost a year, but more frequently within the past few weeks the topic of discussion has been illustrations of hate, fear, paranoia and the unspoken element of violence.

    We should not forget the historical and political parallels that have been kindled in the American political discussions today.

    We can learn from history how past generations thought and acted, how they responded to the demands of their time and how they solved their problems. We can learn by analogy, not by example, for our circumstances will always be different than theirs were. The main thing history can teach us is that human actions have consequences and that certain choices, once made, cannot be undone. They foreclose the possibility of making other choices and thus they determine future events.” -  Gerda Lerner
    Perhaps some will heed the warnings of where the bloody political trail we find ourselves on tends to leads.

    Our own national history serves as a reminder of the results of the things we find so many subscribing to in political debates today. The tragedies we’ve experienced is the flag that flies higher to those who proclaim patriotism as their political proxy, because it is the unforgettable reminder of what unchecked hatred, distorted information and fear can lead to.

    Where does the bloody trail lead?
    I look forward to the day when We the People can fulfill the prophecy of the rest of the sentence, because we have yet obtained the constitution to unite the state of America.

    If “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America” then there should be no thought of such a distinct separateness of the classes, cultures, races, religion, sexuality and even political ideology.

    When the tree of liberty becomes stale by the distortion of corporate tyrants, political cooperatives and ideologues then it’s time to cut down that tree or get rid of the infected branches that is killing it.

    The problem is not the so-called American dream; a dream where one can realize the essence of equality, opportunity and freedom for all. The problem is the people have become too afraid to dare dream it. We’re too concerned with what someone else will say or think.

    The dream has become a nightmare for so many who are not privileged or have been judged by the color of their skin, sexual, religious or political preferences and educational or economic status. The problem is not the American dream or those who continue to dream it, but those who have worked diligently to make it damn near impossible to realize.

    Politics of Fear

    The use of intimidation as a political tactic is nothing new. More often it is some group who proclaims a right or liberty is being threatened and feel they must defend it. Although this very well may be a political proxy lets pretend that’s the real reason why ‘certain people’ appear to be more prone to such ideology and practice. I believe it’s more of a sign of political weakness and instability with the individual or group than it is with government.

    Politicians in both major political parties are too busy playing politics instead of We the People.

    Republicans using fear and hate to drum up support. There too busy trying to make White people afraid of the Black guy in the White House, the Latina Woman in the Court House, the Immigrant who has worked hard to afford the overpriced house in your neighborhood and keeping the gay couple out of the Lord’s house. While making you believe they’re for you while they’re sleeping with the banker’s wife who’s about to foreclose on your house. The Republican Party is not what it use to be and is basically a Conservative Citizens Council. (You need to look up what the Conservative Citizens Council is or just read my previous post.)

    Democrats are not fairing to be much different these days. Don’t get too comfortable with your majority. Especially when you are slow to show your back bone. Stop being so lilly livered and seeking the approval of those who will never approve of anything you dare to do. You are there for a reason. It’s best for you to get to work or get replaced by the ones who’s working against you. Stop concerning yourself with what the Republicans are doing, saying or thinking. The best thing that you or they can do is do what you were elected to do and stop worrying about the next election.

    Do what you’re suppose to do and don’t worry about what anyone else is doing. This is as elementary as the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper. Why can’t politicians just do what they’re suppose to do instead of seeking to score political points and scare people half to death with the fear of Death Panels, Torture, War and rumors of war?

    Where the trail may end
    To all those who may read this who does not like President Obama and seek to do harm to him and/or anyone he’s closely connected to; I urge you to reconsider your ways. Do not under estimate the abilities of this President and the effectiveness of the security of those responsible to protecting him.

    I also urge you to reconsider, because the alternative to all of these well capable people and organizations in place you should not under estimate a silent contingencies of people who will erupt in retaliation beyond measure and it would be unforeseen. These people are not distinctly violent, but I can see little reason why they wouldn’t react with extreme violence towards any person who ‘appears’ to be affiliated with any individual or group who commits harm to this President. The riots that followed various traumatic events during the 1960’s in the U.S. would be minimal in comparison.

    I will not assume that you are very reasonable or tolerant. In fact I believe you to be uncivilized and unsocialized group of unintelligent scared people. That’s the reason why you resort to intimidation, threats and violence. It’s a proxy of the hate you bestow upon anyone you do not understand or you psychologically concluded is intellectually more talented and developed than you. It’s not always about race, but far too often race finds its place. Your misplaced, misguided and well uninformed anger and revealing cultural, political, intellectual and civil unawareness will ultimately undermined you. Reconsider your ways, before it’s too late. You never know where the bloody trail may lead.

    Conservative Gradualism

    Someone very recently asked me what my problem was with the Republican Party.  As I read this gentleman’s email I laughed to myself as I continued to read his assumptions of who I was. I simply replied with a thank you and stated that I appreciate his reading of what I have to say, especially on race and politics. I politely ended by informing this gentleman that he has misjudged me and my intentions and in fact have many things wrong about me and the specific group of people he believes I’m in. A group in which I would love to be considered apart of since I regard them so highly, but I do not have the academic credentials to be considered apart of such an elite group of people he mentioned in jest. But I thank you anyway.

    So in efforts to demonstrate what I’ve been saying, I considered the arguments, assumptions and misinterpretations presented as if they were true and without bias and compared them to what I’ve said. I believe this is a calm and fair response. I hope someone can lend the same level of consideration to me who may have been offended by previous posts, despite the warning.

    Perhaps it’s not fair to categorize the entire Republican Party as being The Party of No regardless of the evidence of their actions. Perhaps, and this is only a thought, many who affiliate themselves in some way with the GOP simply are subscribers to what I’m coining as ‘conservative gradualism’.

    What is conservative gradualism?

    Conservative Gradualism – is a philosophy of or tending or disposed to maintain existing views, conditions or institutions of tradition that asserts a policy of approaching a desired end in stages.

    Haven’t you noticed how many of those who self-affiliate themselves with the Republican Party tend to display adverse tendencies to change?  Yes, it’s not all by no means because those who are moderate have a progressive measure to their conservatism, but are more prone to changes over longer periods of time.

    Now I’m not suggesting that there’s anything wrong with being a Republican, conservative or whatever you may choose to identify yourself as politically. I’m just trying to understand the reason for the extreme levels of non-cooperation with bipartisanship demonstrated and influenced by the GOP. If it isn’t about the race of the President, if it is about the good of the American people and not politics, then I’m trying to understand the reasons for the need of a party to become so exclusive and virtually politically cultural isolationist. The only positive conclusion I’ve determined is conservative gradualism.

    When we look at what the GOP has proposed as a counter argument or alternative to what the Democrats may have proposed the list can be categorized as either non-existent, no or a form of gradualism.

    Think about it. What was the GOP’s alternative to the Financial Crisis and/or Economic Recovery?

    What was the GOP’s alternative to the Auto Industry Crisis?

    What is the GOP’s alternative to Healthcare Reform?

    The answer is the same for all of these. No, Nothing or few changes here and there, all characterizations of a subscription to gradualism.

    I believe it was a notable 20th Century Black southern minister who said that gradualism is an escape for do nothing-ism, which ends up in stand still-ism when asked repeatedly about integration. We may disagree philosophically, but in the distant past we have managed to maintain a level of professional courtesy towards one another.

    If it is not about race, then what are the sudden delusions we’re witnessing today? What’s different with this President than any other of our previous presidents? The excuses are rooted with a level of racial resentment, guilt and hostility. Many psychologists would say that what we’re seeing can be characterized as signs of a guilt complex. Some want to resolve the issues we all have with race and politics, but we are seeing more people indulge in the activity of what you have guilt about. So the most positive conclusion I can determine is what I’ve defined as conservative gradualism.

    I believe many understand and know that we need to change many things that were destroyed by our previous Republican administration. It’s not a contest, but a democracy. Let us ALL work democratically to make this democracy work for ALL of us.

    To those who say they want “My Country” back. I ask you to be honest and explain the America you’re wanted to return, and then consider the history of others who also live in that same America. Is the America that was initiated where the very buildings of democracy where it was created in was built by slave labor? Is the land where a Supreme Court can enact a Separate, but Equal ruling as law which gave license to the many of the deficiencies we continue to see passed down from generation to generation to this very day? The America that gave ordinance to Jim Crow and the likes of such is not the country I want “My Country” to return to. Do you?

    Despite the examples of the good America has to offer, there are many examples of the evils America has birth. This land is not exclusively yours, nor is it of a specific racial group, unless you want to talk to our Native American friends. So if it’s not about race, then what is it then?

    Now you must forgive the academic eloquence of this Black liberal as you called me, but sarcasm aside, I appreciate the compliment. I will always accept any criticism that refers to me as speaking with academic eloquence. I know your intent wasn’t to compliment, but thanks anyway for the unintentional compliment.
