Chairman of the Board for American Voter, Inc

If you were the Chairman of the Board for a company called “American Voter, Inc.” Your company is in some serious trouble due to the bad executive decisions by your current President. Since you’re a public company the board and investors has seen the bottom-line and voiced their concerns to you. Now you must do something about it. You have until November 4th to seek out the best candidates for the job before presenting them to the Board for a vote.

American Voter, Inc. is like every other company in the country and is now feeling the pinch from rising debt, uncertain international relationships, weakening economy, staggering health care costs, out of control spending, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc. etc. The stability of the company for the future depends on your decision and who you present to the board.

Now out of a crowded field of candidates you have narrowed it down to two teams. You are aware of the Equal Employment and Affirmative Actions laws, but you don’t want to be accused of hiring someone for a job who really isn’t qualified for a job this important.

Now the Conservatives of your company have argued for years that Affirmative Action shouldn’t matter and should be tossed out. They have said that you should hire the best qualified person for the job regardless of race, religion, gender or disability.

With that said you look at the educational background and ignore the demographic information, which team are you going to hire to lead the company?

Or is it something else that has skewed your vision of the definition of qualified?

Does intelligence & judgment not matter?
