Pulpit Politicians: Rev. Arnold Conrad Edition

Now I will not even start to bring up other Right-Wing Reverends who think they are the only one with God on speed-dial. Because when you see paper preachers posing as political Pharisees for the status-quo you should be aware.

The Pharisees placed great importance on temple worship, but had no personal relationship with God. Their worship was merely a formal religious observance. To offer a divisive prayer that pits God against other gods leads to question to the motives of the heart, self righteousness and hypocrisy.

Onto your “prayer”: (Click to listen to the audio) (Click to view the video)

“…I would also add, Lord, that your reputation is involved in all that happens between now and November, because there are millions of people around this world praying to their god — whether it’s Hindu, Buddha, Allah — that his opponent wins, for a variety of reasons. And Lord, I pray that you will guard your own reputation, because they’re going to think that their god is bigger than you, if that happens. So I pray that you will step forward and honor your own name with all that happens between now and Election Day.”

Now isn’t God’s reputation always involved where his children are concern? God’s reputation is always questioned by those who do not know him, sometimes by those who claim to know him but are willing participants in unrighteous activities. Have you always done what your parents instructed you to do?

What God are you prayer too?

You’re bolder than me, because essentially you are daring God to do something. You honor His name by following his word. He has a book out called “The Holy Bible”. That book says something about what He wants us to do. Causing division is not apart of it.

There was a group of people called “Pharisees” who had a problem with His son. You see his son had a movement of change. You see the Pharisees didn’t like Jesus because he had no problems hanging out with tax collectors and sinners. He was accused of palling around with people who did bad things too. They called him everything, but the Son of God. (Rim shot) Even when he pointed out their hypocrisies made them mad. (Luke 6:11 & Luke 11:37-52)

Throughout this entire campaign you have questioned everything about Barack Obama, from his name to his loyalty and somehow he can say that you’re a good person. But you rather hand him over to the “Roman Government” of public opinion.

The ridiculous “3AM Call” question, the “Commander-In-Chief” question, the “Fit To Lead” questions all answered, but you still have doubts.

Aren’t you glad I’m not on the ticket, because I would have called you exactly what you are.

I know not all Republicans are bad or subscribe to the hypocrisy of the McCain/Palin Campaign. To continue on this Phariseean-Political narrative, Nicodemus genuinely sought the truth (John 3:1-21, John 10:33 & Matthew 12:8).

But we’ve heard this type of language before from the conservative ideological apostles in 2000 and 2004.

How similar are the shouts and taunts we hear at McCain/Palin rallies where people are unchallenged when they say, “Kill Him”, “Bomb Obama”, and “Terrorist” to those taunts of “Blasphemy” and “Crucify Him” in biblical times.

Rev. Conrad, I understand and respect your passion for your candidate even if you do not understand and respect mine. We all can get caught up and taken out of context, example Jeremiah Wright, John Hagee, Jesse Jackson and Pat Robinson to name a few. But to insinuate a lie that has been perpetuated through this entire campaign, then to essentially dare God to sick’em is dangerous.

Rev. Conrad I ask, where’s your honor for the name of God?
