For Real Dude

I swear that it looks like President-Elect Obama is listening the Geroge W. Bush thinking, “For Real Dude”. This is whatcha leaving me.

President-elect Barack Obama said Thursday the recession could “linger for years” unless Congress pumps unprecedented sums from Washington into the economy, making his highest-profile case yet on an issue certain to define and dominate his early presidency.

“A bad situation could become dramatically worse,” Obama said, painting a dire picture _ including double-digit unemployment and $1 trillion in lost economic activity _ that recalled the days of the Great Depression in the 1930s.

Indeed, the economic news is grim.

Consumers and companies are folding under the negative forces of a collapsed housing market, a global credit crunch and the worst financial crisis since the 1930s. The recession, which started in December 2007, already is the longest in a quarter-century.

  1. I think it was all clear if people had only truly read his memoirs. Or maybe they did.
In “Dreams From My Father”, he states that at about 17 his mom was upset with him. Obama wrote, “I had given her a reassuring smile and patted her hand and told her not to worry, I wouldn’t do anything stupid. IT WAS USUALLY AN EFFECTIVE TACTIC, ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE TRICKS I HAD LEARNED; PEOPLE WERE SATISFIED SO LONG AS YOU WERE COURTEOUS AND SMILED AND MADE NO SUDDEN MOVES. THEY WERE MORE THAN SATISFIED; THEY WERE RELIEVED, SUCH A PLEASANT SURPRISE TO FIND A WELL MANNERED YOUNG BLACK MAN WHO DIDN’T SEEM ANGRY ALL THE TIME.”

  2. Hey Tim,

The baton is being passed to some fresh legs, so hopefully President Obama can make up some ground on the major issues facing our nation. Have a great weekend sir.

  3. The look on Obama’s face shows me not only a “how can you possibly be such an idiot” evaluation, but at the same time, a compassionate sympathy for one so grotesquely beyond the grip of reality and humanity.

There could be a slight “I oughtta slap the motherfucking taste out of your NeoCon mouth” feeling there, but that’s not for me to speculate.

  4. Funny, I found the shot to be one of warmth and an attempt at a level of respect, if not for the man or his ideals or actions, atleast for the office he has held. Seems to me, it is all in perception. I’ll keep a positive perspective on the upcoming president’s reign and hope that Obama was attempting to find a positive, even if his supporters can’t let go of the bitter Bush bashing.

  5. Nah, after looking at it for a few days, that’s definitely a “thank God I’m not you” sort of look.

One thing’s for certain. Like him or not, Barack Obama will never commit treason, never murder thousands and thousands of our soldiers for nothing, never cause the deaths of millions of people over a lie, never scoff at this nation’s constitution, never treat the poor like dogs and he’ll damn sure never leave behind a legacy of God forsaken evil like that vermin in the picture with him has.

Honestly, I feel bad that Barack had to stand that close to it. The Chimp probably doesn’t have very good personal hygiene.
