Many Steelers fans are saying this one will be over before Bruce Springsteen plays his first note at halftime. But the last three Super Bowl champs — the Giants, Colts and Steelers — were underestimated teams that got hot at the right time and felt they had something to prove.
Arizona may also have an ace in the hole in head coach Ken Whisenhunt, Pittsburgh’s offensive co-coordinator when the Steelers won the Super Bowl in 2006. Who would have a better idea of how to stop Roethlisberger and company than the man who spent three years calling their plays? Coach Whisenhunt may have picked up a few hints on how to attack the vaunted Steelers Defense.
Still, it’s tough to envision a unit as dominant as the Dick LeBeau-designed Steelers defense getting lit up, and even Pittsburgh’s tepid attack should be able to move the ball on Arizona’s suspect defense.
My team (Tennessee Titans) fell apart a few weeks ago while playing the Baltimore Ravens. I really don’t have a favorite. I’ve routed for Pittsburgh for years, but I’m glad to see Arizona in the big game. So I really don’t care who wins, I just hope it’s a good game.
Feel free to chime in and share your analysis of how this game will go. I believe it’s going to be on NBC, but check your local listings.
