Insurgency Sessions 101

I can’t make this up. I saw this article and wanted to check it out a little bit closer because I though this was a Democrat saying this, but to my surprise it was a Republican talking about his own party.

Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) actually pitched the idea not once, but twice to his Republican colleagues that they (The Republicans) should position themselves against the Obama Administration as an “Insurgency”.

Mr. Sessions goes on to say that “Insurgency, we understand perhaps a little bit more because of the Taliban and that is that they went about systematically understanding how to disrupt and change a person’s entire processes. I’m not trying to say the Republican Party is the Taliban. … I’m saying an example of how you go about [it] is to change a person from their messaging to their operations to their frontline message. And we need to understand that insurgency may be required when the other side, the House leadership, does not follow the same commands, which we entered the game with.

OK, so you’re saying that the Republican Party should take its tactical ques from the Taliban. Are you for real?

Before I continue on let me ask you a question just between me and you. Were you smoking with Michael Phelps, because you must be high to think that the American public of any political persuasion is going to go for that one?

Now if that’s the spirit of bipartisanship you’re talking about then give me partisan politics again. Who is in control here? I don’t think Rush Limbaugh would go that… well maybe he would go that far.

I guess change is more difficult for some to embrace than others.

  1. Tim,
The country is in a financial and economic mess with two war fronts in a global environment where we have a poor standing. Biparisanship is a necessary (in my opinion) …. but I can’t see it happening … sadly ….

I recommending Peggy Noonan’s book … Patriotic Grace … it best explains my point.

    Nice post.

  2. We are now getting to the center of who they are. People will show you who and what they stand for. We are being shown. Let us take off our blinders and quit pretending that this group – that calls themselves Republicans are dangerous to people who are not them. They are also touting going against our new President because they can no longer have their tick swollen, racist, sexist, homophobic, hate filled way.

Let us stop pretending that they are decent, law abiding citizens when they obviously are not. And they’re not afraid to show it. Why not? Because historically (decades/centuries), they have been the law and the law enforcers. They still believe themselves to be in power and expect to continue doing whatever heinous thing they want – to the people they consider to be lesser.

Let us now speak the truth about many if not most Republicans

  3. This type of attitude by the republicans are doing more harm to the Country and the world than any terrorist group can ever do. However, also with the way the country is changing and our younger generation becoming much more tolerant to new ideas and helping others less fortunate the republicans will be lucky to have more than 10% of elected offices by 2012.
